"Kiss of Life"

 For this photograph, which lineman saves the life of his partner, Rocco Morabito received a 1968 Pulitzer Prize.

Pulitzer Prize - the most prestigious award among the journalists and photographers-reporters.

The drone of air conditioners in July 1967, was heard throughout the state of Florida. Because of them occurred in Jacksonville overload power lines and caused a power surge. Photographer Rocco Morabito was going on that day to shoot a railway trans goad accident and accidentally drew attention to linemen working on the pole.
"On the job, I took a few pictures and decided to go back to even take pictures," - says Moravito.

Returning to Monterey, he heard a scream and looked up: one of them, Randall Champion, hung upside down on the rescue belt, knocked down voltage of 4,160 volts. Second linesmen JD Thompson (JD Thompson) was running to his aid. "I went to call the doctor, and when he returned to the post, then saw JD partner makes artificial respiration, carefully holding the head," - says the photographer. - I retreated further and further, until it ran back into the house and took this picture.
