In Yamal discovered dozens of new mysterious craters

In Yamal discovered dozens of new mysterious cratersAMAZING FACTS
Scientists have discovered another 20 craters that have arisen around a huge failure, filled with water on the Yamal Peninsula.
This adds even more mystery to the unexplained formations  craters  in this area.
Satellite images showed more than 20 small craters that have appeared around the newly discovered crater, turned into a lake, close to the Bovanenkovo gas field on the Yamal Peninsula.
"After studying satellite images, we found that initially there were no craters or lake. Some craters have appeared, and then even more. Then, I suppose, craters filled with water and turned into several lakes and merged into one large lake with a diameter of 50 to 100 m ", - said Professor Basil Epiphany, deputy director of the Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas.

According to the scientists, the researchers are now aware of the 7 large craters: five of them are located in the Yamal Peninsula, one in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, and one - in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory near the Taimyr Peninsula. But researchers know the exact whereabouts of only four craters.
Scientists suggest that the occurrence of craters is due to methane emissions caused by thawing of permafrost due to global warming.

Previously, experts warned of two potentially dangerous places located near the crater B2, which may occur gas emissions.
Objects need to be studied, but it can be dangerous for researchers.

"We know that there may be a number of gas emissions over a long period of time, but we do not know when they will take place," - said Professor Epiphany.
Scientists compared the formation of a mycelium, when there is one mushroom, you find a number of others. He believes that in the Yamal Peninsula could be another 20-30 craters.

The researcher calls for a study of this phenomenon, fearing for the safety of these areas.
